Duties and Responsibilities

(i)     Adherence to professional ethics;

(ii)Ability to design, set, administer and supervise different assessment items;

(iii)Ability to recognize students having difficulties, intervene and provide help and support;

(iv) Ability to mark student scripts and coursework assessment items and provide feedback;

(v)Ability to use computer or learn various emerging computer skills and its application;

(vi) Ability to prepare and deliver own teaching materials;

(vii)Potential to be a good role model and steer students towards dedication to learning, creativity and problem solving

(viii)Possession of sufficient breadth and depth of specialist knowledge in the relevant discipline and of teaching methods and techniques to work within own area;

(ix)Ability to carry out independent research and provide feedback;

(x)Ability to supervise research and other knowledge generating and development activities and

(xi)Perform any other duties that may be assigned by a relevant authority

Qualifications

Holder of PhD in Bioinformatics, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Biotechnology, Biosciences and Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences or Agricultural Sciences,  Master of Science in Bioinformatics, Master of Science in Molecular Biology, Master of Science in Microbiology and Immunology, Master of Science  in Biotechnology or with a GPA of at least 4.0 out of 5.0 and a first degree in Bachelor of Science in  Microbiology, Bachelor of Science in  Molecular Biology, Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology, Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Laboratory Sciences, Bachelor of Science in Biotechnology and Bioinformatics or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with a minimum GPA of 3.8 out of 5.0 from a recognized reputable university.

 

Remuneration

Salary Scale PUTS 3.3
