Duties and Responsibilities

Control and prevent disease outbreaks;

Combating and preventing insects and animals that spread diseases;

Supervise the burial of unidentified bodies and those resulting from infectious diseases;

Preparing various Environmental Health reports at the ward level and submitting them to relevant authorities;

Collect and analyze Environmental Health data in the ward and provide feedback to take appropriate actions;

Providing environmental health education to the community;

Inspecting the environment in food processing areas to ensure public safety and health;

Administer environmental health laws at the ward level as well as assist the community in developing bylaws;

Mobilizing communities to improve water sources and environmental sanitation;

To sensitize the community on the implementation of Primary Health Services at the Ward level; and

Perform other duties assigned by his/her superior related to his/her education, experience and skills.

Qualifications

To be employed with a Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences from a government-recognized institution and registered with the Environmental Health Professionals Board.
